A short, plain account of what we collect and how to stop emails.

Effective date: October 6, 2026.

What we collect

Email sign-up

If you sign up, we collect your email address.

If you sign up, we keep a record of which emails you signed up for.

If you pick seasonal timing, we also store the ZIP code you type on the email form, so tips can match your area. That ZIP is kept with your email address. The lawn calendar on its own still looks up your zone in the browser and does not store that ZIP with an email.

We don't track whether you open our emails or click their links.

Contact form

When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, ZIP code and message. We use them to reply to you and to send you emails from YardSeasons and other EXEGRO brands, which can include news from us about our partners. You can unsubscribe anytime with the link in any email.

Lawn calendar and ZIP

The lawn calendar asks for your ZIP code so the timing can match your area. You type a 5-digit ZIP in your browser. Here is what the site does with it today.

Your browser asks this site for one small public lookup file. The file name uses only the first three digits of your ZIP. The last two digits stay in your browser. We use them there to match your exact ZIP to a climate zone and to build the calendar on the page.

When you look up your yard calendar, we send your ZIP code (only the first 3 digits for very small ZIP areas), your climate zone and your grass type to Google Analytics so we can see which areas use the calendar. It's never linked to your name or email address, and your ZIP never appears in page addresses. Calendar feed links contain only your climate zone and grass type.

This tool saves one thing on your device: an approximate latitude for your area, so the site's season colors can follow your region. That saved value is not your ZIP code.

If you download the calendar file, your ZIP is written into that file on your device.

On some grown-up guides, we use the approximate postal code Cloudflare estimates from your internet connection, only to decide whether to show a paid partner promotion for your area. We don't save that postal code, and we don't set a cookie for this check.

We also keep running totals of how often each partner promotion is shown, clicked, or has its coupon revealed. These are totals only and aren't linked to you.

Site analytics

On grown-up pages, we collect site usage through analytics cookies. Kids' pages don't use them (see Kids' pages below).

On our grown-up pages, Google Analytics uses Google signals to give us anonymous, combined reports on visitors' age range, interests and general location, based on data from people signed in to Google who allow it. We've turned off ad personalization. You can manage this in your Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) or block Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Detailed Google Analytics data is deleted after 14 months; only totals are kept longer.

On our grown-up pages, Google Analytics also counts which outside websites you click to, how far you scroll through a page, and your answers to our quick polls. It doesn't record what you type, your email or your name.

Who we share it with

We share information with these kinds of services:

YardSeasons is a brand of EXEGRO. EXEGRO keeps one email list for all of its brands, so the emails you sign up for may come from YardSeasons or another EXEGRO brand.

If EXEGRO or any of its brands is sold, merged or reorganized, your information, including your email preferences, may transfer to the new owner as part of that business.

How to change your info or stop emails

Every email includes an unsubscribe and preferences link.

The signup confirmation also links to your email preferences. Use that page to change which lists you get or to stop all emails. The change is saved right away.

Cookies and Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics. It uses cookies and similar identifiers to collect usage data.

How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services

We never send Google your email address, name, or anything else that identifies you.

Do Not Track

We don't currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals.

Other companies, such as Google, may collect information about your activity across different websites.

Kids' pages

Kids' pages don't use analytics or cookies and don't store anything in your browser. We don't collect or keep any personal information from kids on these pages, including names, email addresses, locations, or device identifiers such as IP addresses. Kids' pages have no signups, comments, or uploads. Analytics data from kids' pages collected before October 2026 is deleted after 14 months; only totals, like page counts, are kept longer.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
